Kasa Tadesse Birru, the son of the Oromo national hero Gen. Tadesse Birru passed away today, April 7, 2013, afternoon in Maryland, USA. Kassa was working to stand in the footsteps of his beloved father, Gen. Tadesse Birru, and his caring mother, the late Aadde Work-Abeba G/Medhin, who also recently passed away preceding her son, Kasa, only few months ago.
Kassa was busy in compiling documents to write a well-documented biography of his father and mother, specially his father’s contribution to the Oromo peoples’ struggle. Kasa’s endeavours and dreams are suddenly shortcut by a merciless life threatening health condition that brought him recently initiated noble efforts to a stop. Prior to his deteriorating health condition, Kasa was fully engaged in writing his family’s history even though his work progress was once stumbled by the recent passing away of his beloved mother, Mrs. Work-Abeba G/Medhin of Ilfata, Dandii.
Kasa survived by his wife, children, and his three sisters and two brothers: Almaz, Tsehay, Belete, Kassa II, and Martha Tadesse Birru.
